Hi, I’m Anna – but I also reply to my nickname “Newt”. :3
I was born near Hannover in Lower Saxony, Germany, and I’m still there today. I was drawing even as a young child – there’s a whole box full of super exciting picture stories of dinosaurs at my parents'. ;-)
When I was 10, I was caught up in "Sailor Moon" fever - it was on TV at the time and I absolutely adored as a little girl. This series was also my introduction to the world of Japanese comics, anime and manga. It’s a scene that I’m still attached to at over 20 and I simply can't imagine life without it.
At the start I practiced with drawings from magazines and posters, but soon I wanted to think up my own designs and characters.
Since August 2009, I have been a proud member of Kakao Hannover, a small, yet perfectly formed drawing group - maybe you toonity users already know of it. ^_-

That’s why I decided against going to art college, and decided to follow a career path in another area that I find interesting. I study German, and Evangelical theology. ^-^ I do my drawings on a freelance basis and for my own great enjoyment - and I also enjoy giving tips to others to pass on this pleasure.
I’ve never been to drawing school and everything that I do now I learnt myself little by little over the course of years. This means I have experience of a huge range of different techniques (analogue, digital and also in the creative field) and I like to experiment with them. :-)
I work primarily with Photoshop, analogue and markers, as well as with water colours and colouring sets.
My biggest dream is to put together my own picture book and see it published. That’s why I'm currently working on a Manga dress-up app for Android mobiles.
The nickname “Newt” is because of my love for these cute amphibians - they've been following me since childhood and they've even started appearing in my self portraits (see picture). ;-)
